This is a set of photo-etched metal parts meant for fitting out plastic jerrycans in 1:48 scale. It is neither a model nor the cans themselves but an accessory for a higher level of detail. The photo-etched parts add thin fittings such as handles, securing straps, hinges and caps, which cannot be cast in plastic at a realistic thickness. It is made by the Polish brand Aber.
Jerrycans are typical equipment on military vehicles and in dioramas of the Second World War. The standard German twenty-liter can had three characteristic handles and a hinged cap. The photo-etched parts make it possible to refine these details and give the cans a more convincing look in places that are well in view, for example on the fenders or in a vehicle's load. The accessory is designed for the Tamiya 32510 kit.
Nip the parts out carefully and bend them along the scored lines. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Spray the metal with a primer before painting. The cans stand out with a difference in color and gentle weathering.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The cans themselves, glue and paints are not included in the package.
