1:48 Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird TFace

Eduard 1:48 spray mask: Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird (TFace)

A set of precisely shaped self-adhesive masks from the Eduard brand in 1:48 scale for models of the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird reconnaissance aircraft. The TFace designation means that the set contains masks for both sides of the glazing, the outer and the inner one, so the frames can be painted as seen from outside and from inside the cockpit. The masks are cut from kabuki paper and follow the frames of the glazing.

Use

• Stick the outer masks onto the glazing from outside and the inner ones from inside, following the frames.
• Kabuki paper follows rounded surfaces and holds throughout the spraying.
• Painting both sides gives the cockpit frames a realistic look.
• Once the paint has dried you take the masks off and the transitions stay sharp.

Who it is for

• Modelers of jet aircraft in 1:48 scale who want a perfect cockpit.
• Builders who care about painting the frames from the inner side as well.

A mask is neither paint nor a kit. Press the edges down before spraying so that paint does not creep under the mask.
