The basic set of self-adhesive cut masks for the model of the transport glider in the DFS 230A and 230C versions, 1:48 scale. It is not a kit — it is an aid for painting that fundamentally shortens the most laborious part of building this type, that is masking the glazed nose and the cockpit.
The glazing of the glider is divided into many small panes separated by thin ribs. Anyone who has masked them by hand knows that it is work for several evenings and that mistakes come easily: one pane comes out wider, another narrower, and somewhere the paint runs under. Machine-cut film supplies all the pieces in advance in the right shape and size, so you spray the whole grid of the framework in one go and with an even result.
Work systematically from one end to the other and tick off each pane as you apply it, so that none escapes you — with a large number of pieces that happens easily. Once a segment is applied, run a toothpick along the rib so that the mask seats right up to the edge. Before the color of the fuselage, spray the whole framework in the interior shade. If a mask is missing in one of the panes, the best way to spot it is by looking against the light before spraying; a repair after spraying is substantially more laborious.
The package contains masking film only. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery.
