Do 17 Z-2 EXPERT 1:48 mask set (New Ware)

The EXPERT form is the most extensive version within the range of mask sets for the Do 17 Z-2. Besides the frames of the glazing it also covers further areas that are normally covered by hand during spraying, and so it saves the most time where masking is most tiresome. The set is intended for a model in 1:48 scale. It is based on the dimensions of the ICM 48244 kit.

What the extended form means

The basic version handles the glazing, while the extended one goes further and adds masking of other surfaces on the model. The difference shows above all on a twin-engine machine with a number of glazed areas and with wheels, where the tire and the rim are sprayed in different shades. Check the exact contents of the package before buying if you need a particular part.

Working with an airbrush over a mask

• Turn the pressure down to a lower value and spray square to the surface, not at an angle under the edge of the mask.
• Apply the paint in two or three thin coats with a short pause between them.
• The edge of the mask can be sealed with a thin coat of the interior color before the camouflage, so that any creep does not show.
• Take the mask off at a sharp angle, pulling along the surface rather than straight away from the model.
• Store unused sheets flat and away from heat, or the adhesive ages and the film curls.

Who the set is for

For modelers who want the glazing and the small details sprayed uniformly and have no desire to spend an evening cutting tape. Experience with masks is an advantage, because the extended set holds more small parts.

The package holds only the mask set. The base ICM kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
