The heaviest German tracked vehicles carried a lengthened mechanical jack of the highest capacity class. This accessory in 1:35 scale represents exactly such an item of tooling in the version matching vehicles of the Tiger line. The package holds neither a kit nor a finished model — it is a separate detail for a vehicle already built.
On heavy vehicles the jack was not carried carelessly. It had a reserved place on the hull or on a fender, where clamps, straps or folding catches held it in position, and its placing differed with the production batch. Before you glue the part on, go through period photographs of the particular vehicle you are building and compare them with the shape of the brackets on the model — correctly placed tooling is exactly what marks out a carefully built vehicle.
First rid the casting of the gate and go over it with the finest abrasive paper, so that the mating surfaces are flat. Do the dry fitting repeatedly until the part sits in the brackets without pressure; a forced position shows as a lean once the glue has set. Use superglue in spots for the attachment, not in a continuous layer. Paint the jack separately and glue it on only after the main finish on the vehicle, otherwise you will be laboriously masking the surroundings. The last step belongs to a thin dark wash around the brackets, which visually ties the point of contact together.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
