An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4/N fighter in 1:48 scale from Hasegawa. This special release is devoted to the machines of the ace Adolf Galland and also holds a pilot figure and additional detail parts. Check the exact contents of the package against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Bf 109E, the Emil, was the main fighter of the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain in 1940. The E-4/N version was given the more powerful Daimler-Benz DB 601N engine. Adolf Galland was among the best known German fighter pilots and, as Kommodore of the JG 26 fighter wing, he flew machines with striking personal markings. The Emil was marked by angular shapes, straight wing edges and a canopy with heavy framing.
Cement the parts with a thin glue for plastic. Paint the cockpit and pick out the detail before you close the fuselage up; mask the glazing and cement it carefully. Paint the additional detail parts and the pilot figure separately — a figure brings a finished model or a diorama to life. German schemes of 1940 carried gray shades with mottling on the sides of the fuselage; after the gloss varnish and the decals, pick out the panel lines with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
