An injection-molded plastic kit of the Russian heavy interceptor Mikoyan MiG-31B/BM in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The box allows either the MiG-31B version or the upgraded MiG-31BM to be built. Given the great size of the real aircraft, in 1:48 scale this is a large and imposing model. Boxings of this type are usually complemented by photo-etched parts; check the exact contents and the number of parts against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The MiG-31 is a Russian two-seat heavy fighter intended for barrier air defense and for catching targets at long range and high altitude. It was derived from the legendary MiG-25 but received more powerful engines, an advanced phased-array radar and long-range missiles. The upgraded MiG-31BM version brought new avionics and a wider range of roles. It is among the fastest combat aircraft ever built.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Build the large model section by section: paint the two-seat cockpit and the interior before closing the fuselage and mask the clear glazing. Assemble the large air intakes, the engine nozzles and the missile stores carefully. Apply a primer and the colors with an airbrush, apply the decals over a gloss coat and pick out the panel lines with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
