1:48 North American P-51D-5 Mustang TFace from Eduard is a mask set that covers the outer as well as the inner side of the glazing. It lets you paint the canopy frames in the interior shade from inside and in camouflage from outside.

The TFace designation means that the set holds masks in two forms, for the outer as well as the inner side of the cockpit canopy. That lets the glazing frame be painted in the interior shade from inside and in the top camouflage from outside, which shows clearly on the bubble canopy of the Mustang. It is not a kit or photo-etched parts, but self-adhesive die-cut masks. They are made by the Czech firm Eduard from Obrnice near Most.
The P-51D is the best-known version of the Mustang fighter, recognizable by the cut-down fuselage spine and the all-glazed bubble canopy that gave the pilot a view in every direction. It was powered by a liquid-cooled V12 engine with the characteristic ventral radiator, and the machine was famous for the long range that let it escort bomber formations deep over the continent. The D-5 production block is among the first batches of this version; the early machines did not yet have the dorsal fin extension that later aircraft received and that was added to older examples afterwards.
Apply the inner masks first, spray the interior shade of the frames and let it dry. Only then glue the glazing into the model, fit the outer masks and continue with the undercoat and the camouflage. The glazing must be perfectly degreased before the masks go on. Press the mask down with a toothpick, above all in the corners, spray in thin coats and take it off while the paint has not fully cured. When building with an open cockpit it pays to unmask the inside before the canopy is finally seated.
The mask set is an accessory for a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
