Eight P-50 practice bombs in the SH version in one package — such a number makes sense with ordnance that in practice was carried in whole series on multiple racks. Reskit has the T version in the same line as well, so the designation in the name is not decoration but the distinction between two separate products. The set is resin and serves to complete the stores of an already built model.
Practice bombs of the P-50 family were part of the equipment of Soviet and allied tactical aircraft in bombing training. Against live ordnance they have a simplified construction and a different surface finish, which on a model shows above all in a conspicuous color — practice bombs were commonly told apart by a striking finish, so that they were clearly identifiable both on the ground and in the air. The particular shade differed by country and period, so go by documentation.
With eight pieces it pays to work in series: wash all the parts at once, cut the casting blocks off at once and spray the primer at once. That saves a great deal of time and the result is more uniform. Leave the bombs on a wire or stuck in polystyrene foam, and you will handle them better while spraying. Glue them onto the model with super glue only once the camouflage is finished. Watch the uniform orientation of the tail fins — on multiple stores a difference in rotation shows at once.
This is an accessory set, not a model of an aircraft. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
