A sheet of waterslide decals from the Polish manufacturer Techmod in 1:48 with Polish aircraft national insignia. According to the name of the set the insignia are graded into fifteen sizes, so one sheet will cover the needs of models of various sizes as well as of various places on one machine. It is not a kit but an accessory for marking a model already built and painted.
The Polish aircraft national insignia is the so-called checkerboard, a square field divided into four smaller squares in red and white, usually with a border. The insignia has been used since the founding of an independent Polish Air Force and Polish aircraft carry it to this day. It is placed on the wings, the fuselage and the rudder, and its size differs according to the type of aircraft and the time it served. A universal sheet with graded sizes therefore settles the markings for a wide range of models.
The checkerboard has sharp right angles, so even a small skew is conspicuous on a model. Apply it onto a smooth gloss coat with plenty of water, so that it can still be aligned to the axis of the fuselage or to the leading edge. Push the bubbles out with a soft cloth from the center outward and draw the surplus water off. Over engraved lines and riveting use a softener and do not move the decal again. Once dry, close the surface with a matte or semi-gloss coat.
