A decal sheet for a model of the Soviet Polikarpov Po-2 biplane in 1:48 scale. The set is devoted to machines from wartime service.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Polikarpov U-2 first flew at the close of the 1920s as a simple trainer biplane of mixed construction with a small radial engine. It was built in enormous numbers and became a general-purpose machine: it trained pilots, flew liaison and ambulance duties, and in the war it turned into a night harassment bomber. In that role it was unexpectedly effective, because it flew so slowly and so low that fast fighters had trouble shooting it down. After the death of its designer Nikolai Polikarpov in 1944 it was given the designation Po-2 in his honor, and that is the one used to this day.
A printed decal sheet in 1:48 scale with national insignia and the markings of machines from wartime service. How many variants are on the sheet and which kit the set is drawn for first of all is given in the manufacturer's instructions. Both designations in the name, U-2 and Po-2, belong to the same aircraft.
Cut the subject out together with its backing paper and soak it in lukewarm water for a few seconds. As soon as the film starts to slide on the paper, lay it in place and pull the paper out from under it. The decals belong on smooth gloss varnish; on a matte surface air is trapped under the film and the edges turn white. On fabric covering with pronounced ribs a decal softener helps the film press into the hollows. Once it has dried, go over the area with varnish in the sheen you want.
The model, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
