The Kits-World 3D color instrument panel for the Republic P-47D Thunderbolt 1:48 is a relief color decal for the cabin; this variant is cut for the Hasegawa kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is not a kit but an accessory for the pilot's area. The instrument panel is printed in full color on decal paper and has a raised relief, so the gauges do not stay a merely painted surface. Kits-World offers this motif in two guises according to the maker of the kit — this is the version for the Hasegawa kit. The difference between the variants lies precisely in the shape of cabin the panel is cut for, so when choosing, watch which kit you are building.
The P-47D was the most numerously built version of the Thunderbolt — a heavy single-engine fighter aircraft with a radial engine and a turbocharger housed in the rear part of the fuselage. The cabin was spacious and the instrument panel clearly laid out, which in 1:48 scale means that more of it is visible through the canopy than a modeler would expect.
The length of soaking is essential. Relief decals have a thicker carrier film and the adhesive is washed out of them by long soaking; so dip the strip in lukewarm water for only a few seconds and let it rest on a damp paper towel until it starts to move by itself. Only then transfer it onto the panel. The surface has to be degreased and dry, otherwise the decal will lift at the edges once it dries.
It is a modeling accessory. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
