This decal sheet in 1:48 scale from the Russian manufacturer Begemot holds supplementary national insignia and lettering used by naval aviation in the form introduced in 2010. It is not a kit and not a set tied to one particular type of machine; it is a universal set of markings that can be used on the main types of aircraft and helicopters. It will serve where the decals supplied with a kit are missing, of poor quality, yellowed or already used up.

Application tips

Decals belong on smooth gloss varnish; on a matte surface air gets trapped under the film and silvering appears. Cut the emblem out as closely as possible, soak it for a few seconds in clean lukewarm water and leave it to rest on a paper surface until it releases from the backing. Slide it onto the model with a brush and soak the excess water up with a cloth. On intricate surfaces and over engraved lines a decal softener helps. Once dry, spray the whole model with a matte or semi-matte varnish, which hides the edges of the film completely.
