The Saab B 17 was a Swedish single-engine two-seat machine of the turn of the 1930s and 1940s. It was produced in several versions, which differed from one another above all in the power unit used, and with it in the shape of the cowling and the nose. The B 17C version had a radial engine, whose different diameter and cylinder arrangement show on the silhouette of the nose at first glance. That is exactly why a conversion to this version cannot be managed without replacing the engine and the cowling.
First wash the cast parts in lukewarm water with detergent so that the mold release agent is removed and the paint holds. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutter, do not snap them, and sand wet with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue; cement for plastic has no effect on the castings. Fit the cowling dry and check how it follows on from the fuselage; the transition is usually completed with filler and sanded over. It is sensible to paint and highlight the engine before the cowling is fitted, because afterwards you cannot reach it.
The accessory set is supplied without the base kit, glue or paints.
