The Schwarzlose Model 07/12 is an Austro-Hungarian 8 mm heavy machine gun with delayed blowback and a toggle-lever mechanism. In the lightened form the water jacket was removed so that the gun was lighter and cooled by the airstream — such changes were made where the weight of the full cooler could not be carried. The gun remains belt-fed. The description keeps to the technical frame of the design.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water because of the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a new blade and never snap them off by twisting. Sand wet and with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The bare barrel is thin and fragile, so handle the part with tweezers and leave it on the casting block as long as you can. Paint thinly: a primer, a dark steel shade, a fine dry brush along the edges and a dark wash in the recesses around the breech.
This is a modeling accessory, not a complete kit. The parts are supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
