Imitation bolts with a hex head and a large washer in the 0.8 to 1.2 mm size range. Compared with items of a single dimension you therefore have several sizes available here and for a given place you pick the one that matches the subject.
A real machine does not have all its joints the same: the frame, the engine mounting and the axles are bolted more heavily than covers and small brackets. When a single size appears everywhere on a model, the surface flattens out and looks printed. Graded sizes, by contrast, give the joints back a hierarchy that the viewer notices before being able to explain it. The difference between 0.8 and 1.2 mm looks slight in the hand, but on a finished model it decides.
Choose the size by comparison with the surrounding shapes on the part, not by the scale of the kit. Hold the part against the place, and only then drill. Sand the original suggested detail flat so that the washer seats over its whole face, because a tilted joint is more visible on a model than a missing one. With pairs and sets of four bolts, mark the spacing in advance; the eye reveals an irregularity at once. Meter the glue with the tip of a wire at the place of installation, otherwise the surplus flows around the washer and forms a puddle.
Sort the sizes after opening and store them separately; once mixed they are told apart only with difficulty. Work with tweezers over a light surface with a rim; a part of this size is hunted in vain once it falls on a carpet. The model, paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
