Soviet hexagonal airfield 1:48 is a printed diorama base from USCHI van der Rosten for displaying models of aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit but a printed diorama base (a display base) in 1:48 scale. The motif is a hard-surfaced airfield area made up of hexagonal concrete slabs of the kind used on Soviet field airfields. The base is printed on cardboard sheets in A4 format that are joined into a continuous base under a finished model.
Hexagonal concrete slabs were a typical solution for quickly built hard surfaces. They created a characteristic honeycomb pattern with joints and unevenness that on a model scene immediately evokes a real airfield and gives a model scale as well as context.
Glue the sheets onto a sturdy base (plywood, a cardboard board); the joints can be brought out with a dark wash and the surface dusted with pigments for the impression of service. You can add puddles, oil stains or tire tracks.
This is a diorama accessory, not a model of an aircraft. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
