A decal sheet in 1:48 scale for a model of the Spitfire Mk.IXe in Norwegian markings.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Spitfire Mk.IX came about as a quick answer to the new German fighters and, thanks to the powerful Merlin V12 engine, it became one of the most widespread versions of the whole type. The letter e at the end of the designation refers to the form of armament in the wing, which differs from older versions in the placement of the barrels. Norway had its own airmen in British service during the Second World War, and Spitfires in Norwegian markings are among the rewarding modeling subjects.
This is a decal sheet in 1:48 scale with Norwegian air force markings. The number of machines offered and the extent of the additional lettering are given in the instructions enclosed with the sheet; the placement of the individual elements on the model also follows them.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions that this is not a self-adhesive form: a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined for good, whereas a wet decal can be soaked later as well. With an ordinary wet sheet, cut the element out together with its backing, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it can be slid off the paper. Apply it to a smooth glossy surface, otherwise a milky veil will appear under the decal. A decal softener will help to settle the element into pressings and transitions. Once dry, go over the area with varnish according to the manufacturer's instructions.
The sheet suits modelers who are building the Spitfire in 1:48 scale and are looking for a less usual marking. These are decals, not a model; neither the model nor paints are included, unless stated otherwise.
