About product

Spitfire Mk.IIb decals - Sgt. Josef Balejka (1:48, AML)

A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer AML for plastic models of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IIb fighter. The set offers two color options with a color camouflage guide.

The markings

The markings belong to the Spitfire Mk.IIb aircraft flown in the spring of 1941 by the Czech airman Sgt. Josef Balejka with No. 303 (Polish) Squadron RAF at Northolt. The set thus links Czechoslovak aviation history with the tradition of this famous squadron.

Application tips

  • Apply them onto smooth gloss varnish to prevent silvering.
  • Use a softener so that the decals settle onto the leading edges and the engraving.
  • Seal them with a matte or semi-gloss varnish according to the type of finish.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building the early Spitfire Mk.II variant.
  • Anyone interested in Czechoslovak airmen in British and Polish RAF squadrons.
  • Collectors of historically documented personal markings.

This is a standalone decal sheet, not a kit. The model and the paints are not included in the package.
