A photo-etched detail set from the Czech maker Hauler in 1:48 scale. It is not a model but an accessory of thin metal sheet intended for models of the Soviet SU-122 assault gun built on the T-34 chassis. It adds fine elements that plastic cannot reach. The set is intended for the Tamiya kit.
The SU-122 has a great many thin sheet-metal elements on the hull, the brackets and the fittings. The plastic version comes out thick and simplified from the mold. The photo-etched replacement brings the exposed details down to a thickness true to scale and the model gains markedly in realism.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife and make the bends in a bender or between two metal rulers. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Degrease the sheet before painting and apply a primer for metals.
This is a detail accessory, not a model in its own right. The basic Tamiya kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
