This item is not a model nor a whole interior set, but a narrowly focused accessory: a photo-etched seat harness for the ejection seat of a Su-27S model in 1:48 scale. The designation STEEL means that the etched parts are not in the usual brass but in steel. Steel sheet does not spring back once it is bent and will hold even a fine ripple, so the straps can be shaped into naturally draping loops. The parts are printed in color, so they do not have to be repainted.
The Su-27S is the single-seat production fighter version of the Soviet heavy fighter Su-27. The pilot sits on an ejection seat whose multi-point harness is among the most conspicuous features of the cockpit - it is visible on a model even once the canopy is closed, because the seat stays in view. That is exactly why a separate harness set is a popular compromise: it improves the most exposed detail without forcing you to build the whole interior again.
Cut the straps out of the steel fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, never by twisting - the printing is sensitive to a bend in the wrong place. Shape them gradually, with a round tool (the round side of tweezers or a drill bit will do) and with gravity in mind: let the upper shoulder straps drape over the edge of the seat and lay the lap straps loosely into the cushion. Attach them in spots with cyanoacrylate glue and wipe any excess away at once. Leave the buckles in their original printing, or give them a metallic sheen with a dry brush and a minimum of paint. A final flat coat evens the printing out.
The set is an accessory for a plastic model; it is not a kit in its own right. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
