A replacement turned metal gun barrel in 1:48 scale for the famous British Sherman VC tank destroyer, known as the Firefly. It replaces the plastic barrel of the base model and gives the gun a faithful, perfectly straight profile with a hollow muzzle and a muzzle brake. It is an upgrade accessory, not a kit of the whole vehicle.
The Sherman VC Firefly was a British modification of the American Sherman medium tank, into whose turret a powerful 17-pounder anti-tank gun was fitted. It was precisely the long barrel with its characteristic muzzle brake that made the Firefly one of the few Allied tanks able to face heavy German armor at ordinary combat range.
Degrease the metal barrel before gluing and seat it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). A turned part does away with the cleanup of the glued seam that goes with split plastic barrels. Apply a primer to the metal before spraying paint, for better adhesion.
The accessory upgrades a plastic kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
