Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched metal set for completing a plastic kit of the German Pz.Kpfw. IV medium tank in 1:48 scale from Aber. The metal part replaces the plastic stowage bin on the rear of the turret and brings a real wall thickness, sharp edges, a lid and the small fittings that cannot be captured in injection-molded plastic. This is an accessory, not a standalone model.
The Pz.Kpfw. IV was the most numerous German tank built in the Second World War and it served from the first campaigns to the end of the fighting. The sheet-metal bin for crew gear at the rear of the turret became standard equipment and, together with the other fittings, completes the characteristic look of these machines. Because the bin sits at the viewer's eye level, it is among the details that decide the overall impression of a finished model.
Nip the parts from the etched fret and clean them up, make the bends on a bending tool or along the scored lines and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a base coat for adhesion. In 1:48 scale the parts are very small, so sharp tweezers and good lighting pay off.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
