This item is not a kit of an aircraft but a resin accessory for a diorama: a support cart on which a light anti-submarine torpedo is brought to an aircraft or helicopter and from which it is loaded onto a pylon. In 1:48 scale it is a typical element of a scene that gives a finished model context, scale and a story. It is not built as an aircraft in itself and replaces no part of a kit.
Handling torpedoes in naval aviation cannot be done without ground carts with a lifting cradle. The torpedo is set up on the cart in line with the pylon, raised to the height needed and clamped. Carts of this type belong to the ordinary equipment of aircraft carriers and of the land bases of anti-submarine units, and they appear in photographs of preparation for flight practically every time. It is exactly such small things that set an isolated model on a stand apart from a believable scene.
Wash the parts first in warm water with detergent, so that residues of mold release agent disappear. Without that the paint does not hold and peels away over time. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, never break them, and level the cut face with a file. Resin is glued with cyanoacrylate, best a thicker gel, which leaves a few seconds for setting a part in place. Apply a primer before painting. Support equipment tends to be heavily worn, so a dark wash into the recesses, a dry brush on the edges of the sections and fine pigments on the underside of the structure and the wheels all pay off.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
