US Cal.0.30 Ammo. Boxes Vietnam 1:48 – a colored photo-etched set of 7.62 mm ammunition boxes from the manufacturer Eduard for dioramas of the Vietnam War period.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set from the manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale, in a pre-colored finish. It holds American ammunition boxes for belted .30 caliber (7.62 mm) ammunition in the finish typical of the Vietnam War period. The boxes are put together from photo-etched parts and serve as an accessory to figures, vehicles or a diorama. It is not a model but a decorative accessory.
American .30 caliber ammunition boxes served to carry and store belted ammunition for machine guns. During the Vietnam War they were an ordinary part of the kit of infantry and of the crews of vehicles and aircraft. The metal boxes carried lettering and labels describing the contents.
The photo-etched parts are bent into the shape of a box according to the instructions and glued with super glue. The pre-printed colors and labels only need picking out lightly with weathering once glued. The boxes fill out a scene around figures or vehicles.
This is a supplementary photo-etched set, not a model in its own right. The base kit and figures are not included in the package.
