A resin figure of an American naval pilot in a seated pose, complemented by an ejection seat, in 1:48 scale from the Aerobonus brand (the Aires line). The seat is shaped for the cockpit of the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk light carrier attack aircraft in the A, B, C, E, F and M versions. It is an accessory for a cockpit, not a stand-alone aircraft model.
The figure represents a pilot of the US Navy of the 1960s and 1970s, when the agile and reliable Skyhawk was deployed from the decks of aircraft carriers and in the Vietnam War. The pilot has period equipment — a helmet, an oxygen mask, a life vest and a g-suit. It will fill the cockpit faithfully and give the model scale realism.
Resin parts for more experienced modelers: wash the mold release agent off them, separate them from the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), and protect your airways while sanding. Apply a primer before painting, lay the paints on in thin coats and bring out the details with a wash. The head and the arms are usually separate, so the pose can be adjusted slightly; check the fit dry.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
