A deck masking template for the battleship Nagato in 1:350 scale from Artwox Model serves for spraying the wooden areas of the deck on the plastic part of a kit. The template is cut to the deck of the Hasegawa 40024 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for modelers, not a kit. In the package there is a self-adhesive masking template cut to the shape of the deck of the Hasegawa 40024 kit. It makes it possible to separate the wooden areas from the steel ones in paint, that is without gluing veneer on.
The boundary between the wood and the deck steel on a ship of this type is intricate and runs around the superstructures, the turrets and the crane bases. A line led by hand with a brush will never follow it exactly and an unevenness shows more in a display case than a slight difference of shade. The template solves this problem in one step and does not cover the engraved detail of the deck, which disappears under the wood in the veneer option.
First spray the whole deck in the shade of wood, including fine toning of the individual strips so that the surface does not look flat. Once the paint has cured completely, stick the mask on and spray the deck gray. It pays to spray lightly over the edge of the mask with the shade of wood again before the gray; any flow underneath is then hidden in a color that is already there. Apply the gray in several goes and rather less of it, as a thick coat at the edge of the mask creates a step that is then hard to even out.
The template is an accessory to a kit. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
