Wooden barrels in 1:48 scale are a modeling accessory for dioramas and display cases, not a kit of a vehicle. They will fill out a store, a yard, a field post or the load on the bed of a truck.

An accessory from the Czech maker Hauler for modelers who build a setting around their vehicle. A wooden barrel is a universal prop: it suits a military scene and a civilian one, a storehouse, a workshop, the bed of a truck and a part of an improvised barricade. It is not a kit of a vehicle or an aircraft - it is a set of accessory objects that do not make up a model on their own but give one context and scale.
Barrels of oak staves with metal hoops belonged to the back areas of armies and to civilian life throughout the twentieth century. Fuel, lubricants, water, food and chemicals were all stored in them. In a diorama they fill two functions at once: they fill an empty area, and above all they give the viewer a yardstick by which the size of a vehicle or a figure stands out. At the same time they can be used as a visual stop that leads the eye to the main object of the scene.
Work on the barrels separately from the main model, ideally glued to a stick - they can then be painted from every side without being touched. Make the base a medium brown shade, and once it has dried go over it by drybrushing with a lighter ocher, so that the structure of the staves comes out. Suggest the metal hoops with a fine brush in a dark steel color and add small spots of rust. A brown wash will bring out the seams between the boards. Credibility is greatly helped by painting each barrel a little differently - in reality no two are alike.
This is a modeling accessory, not a kit of a vehicle. It is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
