This set from the Greek manufacturer GasPatch holds two resin replicas of the British synchronized Vickers aircraft machine gun in the Hyland Type E form with its characteristic loading handle. The package is a detail accessory for modelers, not a kit of an airplane in its own right.
The Vickers was the standard fixed, forward-firing machine gun of British and Allied fighters of the Great War in 7.7 mm caliber (.303). It was fired synchronized through the propeller disc. Versions with different loading handles and covers allowed it to be worked from the pilot's seat. The casting captures the barrel cooling, the body of the weapon and the detail of the mechanism.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent residue, cut the casting blocks off and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Bring out the metal parts with a dark steel shade and a fine dry brush, and match the fabric and varnished surfaces to the cockpit painting.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
