This resin kit in 1:700 scale captures the American battleship USS South Carolina (BB-26), one of the first dreadnoughts of the US Navy. It is a resin kit intended for experienced modelers.
USS South Carolina was the lead ship of the class of the same name and, together with her sister USS Michigan, she represented the first American dreadnoughts. The novelty was a uniform main battery: eight guns of 305 mm (twelve inches) in four twin turrets arranged on the centerline, with the inner turrets able to fire over the outer ones, the so-called superfiring arrangement. This layout became the model for later battleships.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand them down with respiratory protection. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The model can be built with the full hull or as a waterline model on a stand. Photo-etched railings, lattice masts, an airbrush and fine washes to bring out the deck and the superstructure are recommended.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
