About product

HMS Eskimo 1942 - a Tribal class destroyer, 1:700, ROP o.s. (resin)

This resin kit in 1:700 scale captures the British Tribal class destroyer HMS Eskimo as she was in 1942. It is a resin kit intended for experienced modelers.

The real subject

HMS Eskimo belonged to the Tribal class, the fast and well armed destroyers of the Royal Navy. During the Second World War ships of this class carried out escort as well as combat duties in the Atlantic, the Mediterranean and northern waters. A slender silhouette with two funnels and twin gun turrets of the main caliber is typical of them.

Building and painting tips

Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand them down with respiratory protection. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The model can be treated as a full hull or as a waterline model on a stand. Photo-etched railings, aerials from stretched sprue, an airbrush and a period camouflage scheme are recommended. Fine washes will help bring out the deck and the superstructure.

Who the model is for

  • Experienced modelers with experience of resin
  • Collectors of Royal Navy destroyers in 1:700
  • Anyone interested in the naval history of the Second World War
  • Builders of naval dioramas

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
