Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German battlecruiser Scharnhorst from Tamiya in 1:700 scale. The model reproduces the distinctive features of the ship, such as the sharp so-called Atlantic bow and the angled funnel cap. The box holds parts for the hull, the main armament turrets, the superstructure and the light armament, which together make up the elegant silhouette of a fast German ship. It is a kit to be built and painted, not a finished model.
The Scharnhorst was a German battlecruiser that, together with her sister ship Gneisenau, operated in the Atlantic during the Second World War and sank a number of Allied vessels, among them the British aircraft carrier Glorious. She was marked by high speed and strong armor. Her combat career ended in December 1943. The model captures her typical slender, fast appearance.
The model is built up from the individual hull and superstructure parts; glue the small anti-aircraft armament and mast parts with cyanoacrylate glue and clean up the seams. Paint the hull and decks in German naval shades and set the wooden areas apart. A dark wash in the recesses and fine weathering bring out the volume of the hull. The detail can be extended with photo-etched railings and a stand from the accessory range.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
