1:700 Scharnhorst - hoist is a photo-etched accessory set from Flyhawk, intended for the Flyhawk kit of the German battleship Scharnhorst in 1:700 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set from Flyhawk focused on the hoisting gear of the German battleship Scharnhorst in 1:700 scale. It is an accessory intended for the Flyhawk Scharnhorst kit - not a model of the ship in its own right. Fine etched parts replace the simplified plastic details and give the miniature scale a convincing delicacy.
Scharnhorst, together with her sister ship Gneisenau, was one of the first large surface units built for the Kriegsmarine in the 1930s. She entered service in 1939, took part in the operations off Norway, in the famous Channel Dash of 1942 and in deployments in northern waters. She was sunk at the Battle of the North Cape in December 1943. The hoisting gear and cranes served on deck for handling boats, floatplanes and supplies.
In 1:700 scale, work with a magnifier and good tweezers. Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface, bend them over a steel ruler or in a photo-etch bender and glue them with the smallest possible amount of super glue. Before fitting, level the area of the model the part seats against, and finally spray the whole with primer so that the paint holds on metal.
This is an accessory photo-etched set - the basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
