Metal replacement gun barrels for a model of HMS Invincible in 1:700 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Gun barrels are the most vulnerable part on ship models. Injection molded barrels in 1:700 scale tend to be thicker than they should be, have traces of manufacture along their length and leave the muzzle blanked off. A metal barrel is thin, straight, takes being touched during handling, and its muzzle looks better even with no further work than a plastic blank does.
The package contains metal gun barrels for a model of HMS Invincible in 1:700 scale. That they are metal is stated in the name itself; what metal it is, how many pieces the package contains and how they are divided by caliber are stated in the manufacturer's instructions. These data are in the manufacturer's data sheet and in the manufacturer's instructions, where there also tends to be a diagram of which barrel belongs in which turret.
Cut the plastic barrel off with a sharp blade right at the turret and level the area. Drill the hole for the barrel spigot slowly and with a drill a shade smaller than the diameter of the spigot, so that the part holds. Wash and degrease the metal parts before gluing and before painting; paint holds badly on smooth metal, so a primer coat pays off. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, a drop of which should be laid on a wooden stick, not straight onto the part. Work over a tray, as the parts are small.
It is for modelers who are building a ship model for a display case and want to raise the level of its most conspicuous parts without major interventions into the build. The model of the ship, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise; which kit the barrels are cut for should be checked in the manufacturer's data sheet.
