A wooden deck 1:700 for the battleship IJN Nagato is a veneer accessory with the laying of the planks printed on it and with a self-adhesive base, intended for a plastic kit of a Japanese battleship. Intended for the Aoshima 038673 kit.

An accessory for ship modelers, not a kit. The package holds a veneer cutout of the decks in 1:700 scale with printed gaps between the planks and with a self-adhesive layer on the back. The veneer is glued straight onto the plastic deck of the basic model and replaces its painting. Because the Nagato is released in several configurations in this scale, the cutouts differ between individual sets and it is necessary to choose according to the kit you are really building. The set is designed for the Aoshima 038673 kit.
The Nagato was a Japanese battleship of the class of the same name with a main battery of 410 mm in four twin turrets. During her service she went through several modernizations that changed the superstructure, the funnels and the arrangement of the light armament, so the individual configurations of the ship differ from one another markedly. The decks were laid with wood according to the Japanese practice of the time.
A veneer deck goes well with photo-etched parts, but the order of work has to be thought through. Railings, ladders and gratings are usually glued on only after the veneer has been laid, because their feet would form an unevenness under it. Conversely, the parts that have a base of their own on the deck are better seated before gluing and the veneer trimmed around them. Dose super glue in tiny drops on the tip of a needle, because its fumes leave a white veil on the veneer. Seal the finished surface with matte varnish, which stands up to fingerprints.
This is an accessory to a ship kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
