A masking sheet for the deck of a model of the Japanese battleship Musashi in 1:700 scale, cut for the Tamiya 31114 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Musashi was the second ship of the Yamato class and, together with her sister vessel, the largest battleship ever built. Her main armament consisted of nine 460 mm guns in three triple turrets. She was sunk on 24 October 1944 in the Sibuyan Sea after air attacks by carrier aircraft that lasted the whole day.
This is a masking sheet for a model in 1:700 scale, cut for the Tamiya 31114 kit. The shapes of the deck areas are cut out in advance, so with them you separate the wooden deck from the surrounding finish without laboriously tracing the outlines and cutting them out of tape. In 1:700 scale this is felt most, because tape cut by hand is hard to settle onto small areas.
Follow the instructions from the manufacturer and the order of spraying you have chosen. Peel the parts off the backing, seat them on the deck and press the edges down carefully so that paint does not flow under them. The surface should be clean, degreased and dry. Apply the paint in several light coats and take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried.
The sheet will be appreciated by a ship modeler who does not want to cover a deck piece by piece with tape in a small scale and wants the boundaries of the areas crisp. The delivery holds the masking sheet itself; the kit, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
