Responsibility details are not available.
A full-hull plastic kit of the destroyer Tan Yang as she was in 1955, in 1:700 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima. It captures the ship at the time of her service with the navy of the Republic of China. The kit is molded from injected plastic and meant for gluing; it is a rewarding subject for collectors of the postwar history of this ship.
The subject is a destroyer that served the Imperial Japanese Navy during the Second World War as Yukikaze (the Kagero class) and was the only one of the whole class to come through the war. After the war she was handed over to the navy of the Republic of China and renamed; her appearance of 1955 matches this postwar period of service, with a modified fit and markings.
The hull is built as a full hull — for the display case a stand can be added. Separate the fine parts of the superstructure, the guns and the masts with a sharp knife and glue them with a thin cement for plastic. Paint the deck and the hull with an airbrush, and accent the wooden surfaces of the deck with a glaze or a wash. A suitable accessory is a set of photo-etched railings, which is not included in the package.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
