About product

U.S. Aircraft Carrier Enterprise 1:700 - Tamiya (Waterline)

A plastic kit model of the American aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CV-6) in 1:700 scale from Tamiya, from the Waterline range. The model is built as a waterline version with the hull above the waterline and captures the flight deck, the island and the superstructures of the carrier.

The real subject

USS Enterprise was a Yorktown class aircraft carrier and one of the most famous American warships of all. She took part in most of the key battles of the war in the Pacific, from Midway through the fighting for Guadalcanal to the closing campaigns, and became the most decorated American ship of the Second World War.

Building and painting tips

Seat the waterline hull on a flat surface so that the waterline stays true. Glue the fine parts of the island, the guns and the masts with thin cement for plastic. Naval grays and period camouflage schemes (Measure) suit American carriers well; bring the flight deck and the panel lines to life with a fine wash, and the railings can be added from a photo-etched aftermarket set.

Who the model is for

  • anyone interested in American aircraft carriers of the Second World War
  • collectors of carriers in a single 1:700 scale
  • modelers building Pacific task forces and dioramas
  • moderately experienced and advanced builders alike

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
