This is a set of 2 turned metal barrels for the American naval gun of 127 mm (5 inch) caliber and 54 calibers length, the Mark 45 type, in 1:700 scale. It is not a kit but an accurate replacement part (a detail set) from the Polish manufacturer MASTER with which you replace the plastic barrels from the box. The turned finish gives the barrel a perfectly round cross-section and a sharp muzzle.
The Mark 45 of 127 mm caliber in the 54 calibers length version is the standard dual-purpose naval gun of the US Navy. A number of modern warships carry it, among them Ticonderoga class cruisers and older destroyers. A set of two barrels covers models with one or two turrets of this gun.
Cut off the original plastic barrels and clean up the seating face. Glue the metal barrels on with cyanoacrylate. Degrease the surface before painting and use a primer for metal. A metal barrel also survives handling better than a thin plastic part.
This is an accessory for a model, not a standalone kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package.
