A set of two printed paper sheets with American period poster art from both world wars. According to the name the sheets are prepared in two scales, 1:72 and 1:35. This is a scenic accessory for dioramas and display-case scenes — not a kit and not a waterslide decal.
Paper manages what a decal only does with difficulty: it bends over the edge of a post, the corner of a wall or a crate and still stays whole. Score the edge in advance with the blunt side of a scalpel or the rounded tip of a toothpick, fold the paper once the glue has damped it and press it down with a soft brush. On coarser stucco it helps to damp the cut piece with clean water first, lay it down and only then slip the glue under the edges — the paper then conforms to the texture of the surface and will not bulge.
Two sheets leave room for trials. Use the first cut piece as a test of trimming, folding and weathering, and only transfer the proven method to the final piece. The remaining cut pieces have uses beyond walls — on a billboard post, on the side of a trailer or as pasted-up paper on a crate. Always spray on matte varnish at the end in several light coats; one heavy coat will wrinkle the paper. Watch the size: the cut pieces for 1:72 and for 1:35 cannot be swapped, so always check the proportion against a figure.
The accessory is supplied as printed sheets. Glue, paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
