An injection-molded plastic kit of the AH-64A Apache attack helicopter in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The model has finely engraved panel lines and a well worked-out tandem cockpit. The box contains external stores and decal sheets for several color schemes. It is a rewarding model of one of the best known attack helicopters in the world.
The AH-64 Apache is an American two-seat attack helicopter powered by a pair of turboshaft engines. It entered service in the mid-1980s as the main antitank and attack helicopter of the US Army. The AH-64A version is the original production form. Characteristic features are the tandem cockpit with pilot and gunner, the sensor turret in the nose, the traversing 30 mm chain gun under the fuselage and the wing pylons for Hellfire antitank guided missiles and Hydra unguided rocket pods.
Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic. Finish and paint the cockpit and the interior before closing up the fuselage. Fit the glazing only after painting and mask it beforehand. The dark green camouflage finish shows to best advantage with an airbrush; bring out the panel lines with a dark wash and unify the whole surface with a matte varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
