Armory 1:72 B-1B Lancer — a set of resin wheels with weighted tires (late type) is a detailed resin replacement for the landing gear wheels of models of the strategic bomber B-1B Lancer.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the manufacturer Armory is not a kit in its own right but a detail accessory — precisely cast resin wheels intended to replace the plastic parts for models of the supersonic bomber B-1B Lancer in 1:72 scale. The tires are made as weighted, with a suggestion of compression where they meet the surface, so the finished model gives the impression of a machine really standing on the runway. The late type designation refers to the rendering of the wheels matching the later service form of the aircraft.
The Rockwell B-1B Lancer is an American strategic bomber with a variable-geometry wing, brought into service in the middle of the 1980s. It carries a considerable takeoff weight, so the rugged main landing gear with its multi-wheel units is among its marked recognition features. Faithfully made wheels therefore lift the look of a finished model noticeably.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a sharp knife and clean up the surfaces; protect your airways when sanding resin. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue. We recommend painting the tires a flat dark gray rather than pure black, and the hubs according to period photographs.
The set contains only the resin wheel parts; it is not a model in its own right and contains neither glue nor paints. A matching basic plastic kit is needed to use it.
