A turned metal barrel for a model of the German heavy anti-aircraft gun 12.8 cm Flak 40 in 1:72 scale. On an anti-aircraft gun the long barrel is the first thing that catches the eye — and it is precisely here that plastic parts suffer most from seams, bending and an inaccurate muzzle. The machined metal part solves all these failings at once.
The Flak 40 of 12.8 cm was the heaviest production German anti-aircraft gun of the Second World War. It was used above all in static positions to defend the cities and industry of the Reich — among other things on the massive flak towers — and some of the guns were also mounted on railway carriages. Against the Allied bomber formations it was an exceptionally dangerous opponent thanks to its great range and powerful ammunition.
Degrease the metal part before gluing and attach it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before painting we recommend a thin coat of primer for metal; when doing the final weathering, tie the barrel in visually with the rest of the gun — dusting and fine scuffs at the muzzle look very convincing even in a small scale.
The accessory is made for a kit — the base model is not included in the package.
