A die-cut self-adhesive masking set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not a kit and not a model but an accessory for modelers in 1:72 scale that makes masking the cockpit glazing and the wheels more precise and quicker when spraying paint. The precisely shaped masks are made of fine Japanese kabuki tape.
The masks are stuck onto the frames of the cockpit canopy and onto the wheel rims, so that after spraying the glass stays clear and the tires stay free of paint. Kabuki tape adapts to curved shapes, holds tightly and leaves no adhesive when peeled off. The result is sharp, straight lines on the canopy frames without laboriously cutting tape by hand.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109E, nicknamed the Emil, was a single-seat fighter aircraft of the Luftwaffe and one of the most widespread versions of this legendary fighter. It was powered by a Daimler-Benz V-type engine and it was used above all in the fighting over France in 1940 and in the Battle of Britain. It was marked by the angular shapes of its cockpit and by a good rate of climb.
The set contains only the die-cut masking parts. The model, paints and glue are not included.
