The kit captures the UAZ-39095 light commercial vehicle - a flatbed with a lengthened cab and a tarpaulin-covered bed from the Ulyanovsk car plant. 1:43 is the classic car scale, so the finished model suits a cabinet among collector metal models and among the other commercial vehicles from the same maker.
The Ulyanovsk light trucks come from the proven family of off-road vehicles with all-wheel drive, rigid axles and simple, easily repaired engineering. It was that very undemanding nature that made them a matter of course in the countryside, in forestry, on geological expeditions and in municipal services across the whole of the former Eastern bloc. The 39095 version combines a lengthened cab, which takes more people than the classic two-seater, with a bed covered by a tarpaulin on a frame - so one vehicle could carry a work crew and its materials alike. High ground clearance and short overhangs make these vehicles equipment that will get through even where an ordinary van gives up.
Put the parts together dry first and check the fit of the cab with the bed, and only then join them with an adhesive suitable for the material they are made of. A primer will even up the surface and improve the adhesion of the top coat. The tarpaulin looks best sprayed in a slightly different shade from the body, with its folds brought out by a dark wash and a dry brush. Dust and mud suit the chassis and the tires, because the real vehicle rarely worked on asphalt.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
