1:72 Breguet Atlantic – bomb bay is a resin detail set from the Black Dog brand intended for finishing off a plastic model of the maritime patrol aircraft. It is not a kit of an airplane but an accessory.

A resin detail set in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Black Dog. It deals with the space of the weapons bay (bomb bay) of the French Breguet Atlantic maritime patrol aircraft, that is, an area that injection-molded kits usually offer only as a closed smooth part. The set does not make up a model on its own – it is intended for building into a plastic kit that has already been bought.
The Breguet Atlantic is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft for maritime patrol and anti-submarine work, developed within a joint European program at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s. It is characterized by a double-bubble fuselage with a pressurized upper part for the crew and an unpressurized lower part, in which the long weapons bay sits. The aircraft served with several European naval air arms and saw a modernized generation. On this type an open bomb bay is among the most striking elements of a display model.
Wash the resin parts with lukewarm water and detergent, so that no release agent from the mold stays on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and do the sanding wet and with respiratory protection. For joining, use cyanoacrylate glue, which can be worked in spots; for longer time to set a part in place, the gel variant comes in handy. It is sensible to paint and shade the bay before the fuselage is closed – once glued, you cannot get into the space. The inside comes out well with a dark wash, fine dry brushing of the edges and restrained traces of service around the suspension points.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
