A paper masking template for a model of the French Caudron CR.714 fighter in 1:72 scale, cut for the RS Models kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Caudron CR.714 was a French light fighter of the late 1930s. It grew out of a family of fast racing machines, which is why it had a slim fuselage and small frontal area, but in the fighter role it lagged behind its contemporary opponents. In the fighting of 1940 it was flown by Polish pilots in French service. For the modeler it is a small, slender machine on which every inaccuracy in the painting shows at first glance.
This is a paper masking template for a model in 1:72 scale, cut to match the kit from RS Models. It serves to cover the areas that are to stay free of paint reliably while spraying, so that the boundary of the pattern comes out crisp and repeatable on the other side of the fuselage as well.
Lay the template on a dry, clean and degreased surface before spraying. Press the edge down along its whole length so that paint cannot get underneath it. Spray in thin coats and preferably in two passes, because a heavy coat creeps under an edge more readily than a thin one. Whether the template is self-adhesive or is merely laid on and held around the perimeter is to be checked in the manufacturer's instructions. Remove it as soon as the paint is dry to the touch.
The template alone is supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
