The light fortification of model 37, for which the nickname ropik took hold, formed a continuous line of the Czechoslovak border fortifications in the second half of the nineteen thirties. These were small concrete objects for a crew of a few men, whose embrasures did not point forward against an attacker but obliquely to the sides, so that the fire of neighboring objects crossed. Type A is the basic two-sided form with two embrasures. The number in the designation distinguishes the angle the axes of the two embrasures make between them, while the closing letter marks the degree of resistance of the walls and the roof.
The model captures the object in 1:72 scale and according to the name it is supplied without terrain, that is as the structure alone, with no base with an earth bank and surroundings. Setting it into terrain is therefore up to the modeler, and that is an opportunity at the same time: ropiks were largely covered over with earth and what stayed visible was mainly the front wall with the embrasures and the entrance side.
Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest carefully. Wash and degrease the surface before painting, otherwise the paint will not stay on it. Concrete is never painted a uniform gray: lay down a base shade, draw faint uneven patches in warmer and cooler tones over it and bring the seams out with a dark wash. The recommended glue and the particular assembly procedure are stated in the manufacturer's instructions.
