Decals 1:72 Gloster Gladiator — the Swedish volunteer Wing F 19 — a decal sheet from AML for the Gladiators of the Swedish volunteers from the Finnish Winter War, this time in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet from the Czech manufacturer AML in 1:72 scale with markings for the Gloster Gladiator biplanes of the Swedish volunteer unit F 19. If you are building a Gladiator in a small scale and looking for a subject with a story, this Nordic chapter is exactly it.
The volunteer unit F 19, made up of Swedish pilots and ground crew, came to the aid of Finland during the Winter War at the turn of 1939 and 1940. With its Gloster Gladiator fighters (the Swedish designation J 8A) it operated over northern Finland in extreme cold: the aircraft took off from improvised frozen surfaces and their maintenance was carried out in the open air. Despite its modest numbers the unit acquitted itself bravely, and its Gladiators are today among the most interesting variants of this biplane.
In 1:72 scale the subjects are small, so transfer them with tweezers held by the backing paper and fine-tune the position with a dampened brush. Do not hurry: a short soak and a moment of waiting until the subject releases on its own will protect the print from tearing. On the fabric areas with ribs use a decal softener, and once dry spray the model with a flat varnish that matches the period appearance.
This is a decal sheet; the aircraft model is not included in the package.
