An injection-molded plastic kit of the single-seat F-15C fighter version in 1:72 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. It is an edition with anniversary markings for sixty years of the Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security between Japan and the United States. The contents of the package, the number of parts and the decal schemes are given in the instructions enclosed with the model.
The F-15 Eagle is a twin-engine fighter with a high-mounted wing of large area and a pair of fins, designed to win air superiority. The F-15C version is single-seat and, against the original A series, it brought changes to the fuel system and the avionics and a higher takeoff weight. The type has served since the second half of the 1970s and has gone through several upgrade programs; a favorable thrust-to-weight ratio and a large wing remain its characteristic features.
In 1:72 scale a number of the parts are small, so it pays to cut them off with a sharp knife and to check the cemented joints of the fuselage against the light. It is a good idea to finish and paint the cockpit, the seat and the nose gear bay before the halves of the fuselage are joined. Apply a gloss varnish under the decals and, once it has dried, unify the whole with a matte one; the typical gray camouflage shades come out better with fine picking out of the panel lines and light shading of the individual fields.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
